Distillery Honored with Gold Stevie Award in 2017 International Business Awards
Voiced by Amazon Polly

We’re delighted to announce that Distillery has been honored with a Gold Stevie International Business Award for “Best New Product or Service of the Year — Software — FinTech Solution” for the Netvest app. Netvest is an innovative, time-saving investment platform that quite literally allows you to put a stable of expert investors in your pocket.

Distillery is 2017 Stevie Gold Winner

The International Business Awards are the world’s premier business awards program. All individuals and organizations worldwide — public and private, for-profit and non-profit, large and small — are eligible to submit nominations. The 2017 IBAs received entries from more than 60 nations and territories. A record total of more than 3,900 nominations were submitted for consideration this year.

The Distillery team worked closely with Mark Rochelli, Netvest’s founder, to build the product on the fly and make the right strategic decisions to prepare it for its release in the fall of 2016. “I’m so glad we won acknowledgement for this product,” said Distillery’s Managing Director Anar Babaev, the project manager who spearheaded the effort. “It was a challenging process, but in the end we succeeded and created a fantastic product. The project is a special one for me.” The Distillery team members who worked on the Netvest project included approximately 12 professionals, including QA, web backend developers, web frontend developers, Android and iOS developers, and UX and UI designers. Every two weeks, they released inner builds to Mark, discussing what was ready, next steps and priorities, and any fixes needed.

Rochelli’s vision for Netvest was to create a transparent investment platform that enables members to understand and learn from the thought process of highly successful investors. Members are able to view investors’ actual investment portfolios, tracking changes in real time and reading the investors’ explanations for their decisions. Essentially, the app enables everyday investors to learn from some of the best. Explained Distillery UX Designer Andrew Reinstein, “We knew that investing can be an intimidating subject for many people. Our goal was to take a complex subject and design something that was easy for a new investor to understand, but also impactful for someone who’d been investing for years.”

Stevie Award winners were determined by the average scores of more than 200 executives worldwide who participated on 12 juries. The IBA judges had many positive things to say about the Netvest product. Representative quotes from the judges included the following:
“Investing made simple, Distillery has picked a winner.”
“Although there have been several apps that shows [sic] investor patterns and tricks that successful investors follow, this app gets it closer to how they think and invest.”
“A practical and handy tool for individual net investors and presents a good user experience.”

Nicknamed the Stevies for the Greek word for “crowned,” the awards will be presented to winners at a gala awards banquet at the W Hotel in Barcelona, Spain, in October. Details about the International Business Awards, as well as the complete list of Stevie Award winners, can be found at www.StevieAwards.com.

We’re always proud of the incredibly hard work that our Distillery developers, designers, and project management professionals put into each and every project. Most of the time, getting to the end product with the sense of a job well done must be reward enough. We’re thrilled that — in this case — the Netvest team’s top-quality effort is being recognized with this highly prestigious award. And while we know we can’t win global honors for everything we do, we’ll be happy to let our Gold Stevie award serve as a reminder that sometimes, we absolutely deserve to.
