We’re excited to share that Distillery has been recognized with yet another award! Distillery’s website has been honored with an “Award of Excellence” in the “Digital” category (sub-category of “Websites — General-Web Applications / Services”) in the 24th Annual Communicator Awards. The Communicator Awards program is an annual competition “honoring the best in advertising, corporate communications, public relations, and identity work for print, video, interactive, and audio.” Massive kudos are due to the Distillery marketing team members, UI and UX designers, and developers who work diligently to make Distillery’s website best-in-class.
Since entries for the Communicator Awards are received from around the world, the program is the largest and most competitive awards program honoring creative excellence for communications professionals. We’re thrilled to be recognized among such an impressive slate of global award winners.
The Communicator Awards are annually overseen by the Academy of Interactive and Visual Arts (AIVA), an invitation-only professional organization made up of more than 600 leading professionals from various visual art disciplines. Current AIVA members represent companies such as Wired, Condé Nast, Republica, Disney, PureMatter, MTV Networks, Starbucks, Time, Yahoo!, and many others.
Judging for the awards is completed by AIVA members. Since judging is, according to AIVA, “based purely on craft,” some categories may have multiple winners. All entries are scored on a 100-point scale; generally, recipients of Awards of Excellence (like Distillery’s) receive a score of 90 or above.
In announcing the awards, AIVA Director Derek Howard said, “We are extremely proud to recognize the work received for the 24th Annual Communicator Awards. This year’s class of entries embodies the ever-evolving marketing and communications industry.” He added, “On behalf the Academy members, I’d like to applaud the entrants this season for their dedication to producing outstanding content as they continue to push the envelope of creativity.”
While the past year has been huge for Distillery in terms of awards and honors, we promise we’ll never let it go to our heads. While it’s wonderful to receive acknowledgement for our hard work, it only makes us work harder and innovate further. With that in mind, stay tuned to see what’s next for our website and blog!
In addition to winning awards for Distillery, we also win awards on behalf of the work we do for our clients. Want to learn more about how we build award-winning apps and websites for our startup and enterprise clients? Let us know.
