At Distillery, our amazing employees are at the center of everything we do — And they deserve to have the spotlight!
In our “Meet Distillery” series, we introduce you to some of the talented experts who help us (and our partners) bring ideas to life.
Today, we’d like to introduce Alejandro Marin, Operations Commander for Distillery Argentina!
Alejandro, Distillery Argentina Operations Manager
Tell us a bit about your background and your role at Distillery.
I’m the Operations Manager for Distillery Argentina. I have 16+ years of experience in software services management within different industries; this includes local and international companies.
Given your work experience, what are your biggest strengths that you bring to your role at Distillery?
My strengths are my experience with building high-performing teams to provide world-class services to clients, and developing the best possible environment for people to work and thrive in.
What attracted you to Distillery?
Joining a global, fast growing company while building the Argentina operations to make it a great place to work? The opportunity to provide top-notch service to international clients? Challenge accepted!
What has been your favorite part about being on the Distillery team?
It has been super exciting to see how we were able to build the Latin America offices from the ground up; I have loved being a part of this quickly growing global scale process. I also like learning from and working with people from different countries and cultures — this experience has been and will continue to be priceless.
I frequently recall the “old days” (which wasn’t too long ago) before Distillery LatAm existed. When I see our Distillery Argentina family rocking at a world-class level making impossible things possible, my chest explodes of pride. I feel fortunate and honored to have these amazing people to work with, not only in Argentina but also in Mexico, the U.S. and in Russia. I have the best team/family ever!
Who do you look to for mentorship/inspiration?
I’m usually inspired by people I’m close to. The person who has most recently inspired me is my dear friend and counterpart, Yosele Angulo, who is the Operations Manager for Distillery Mexico.
Coffee or tea? How many cups in a normal work day?
Definitely coffee. I don’t want to count how many cups I have per day — I’m afraid to find out.
What do you enjoy doing outside of work?
I am an underground electronic music DJ and future music producer!
What’s your superpower?
Perseverance! When I believe in something, I push forward no matter what and never give up.
What is your most-used or favorite emoji?
🤞 — I don’t think luck it’s a crucial factor for success, but sometimes you just need it.
What’s your favorite movie?
My favorite movie is Star Wars: Episode III — Revenge of the Sith!
What is your ideal vacation?
What languages can you speak?
Spanish is my native language, and I do my best with English 😊
