In our “Meet Distillery” series, we introduce you to some of the talented experts who help us (and our partners) bring ideas to life.
Today, we’d like to introduce Taia Kvitek, Distillery’s Sales Director!
Taia, Sales Director at Distillery
Tell us a bit about your background and your role at Distillery.
I’m a Sales Director at Distillery! I’m originally from the Bay Area, which is where I started my career in technology and technology staffing. I now call Arizona my home, and continued my work here in tech staffing. I grew up around tech my whole life being from Silicon Valley, and find everything about it to be fascinating.
Given your work experience, what are your biggest strengths that you bring to your role at Distillery?
I’ve worked with everything from startups to Fortune 10 tech companies. My biggest strength is relationship building — Having a great relationship with my clients is of the utmost importance to me. When they’re happy, I’m happy, and everyone wins.
What attracted you to Distillery?
I had a great first impression of the leadership at Distillery. I’ve learned firsthand and know that without great leadership, you can’t have a great company. I knew right away Distillery would be an awesome company, and I wanted to jump on the opportunity to surround myself with greatness. I also really wanted to be a part of a growing company that I saw huge potential in; I want to see Distillery succeed beyond expectation, and I want to help contribute to that growth.
What has been your favorite part about being on the Distillery team?
I love the fact that even though we are miles and oceans apart, I feel very connected to the team. It feels like family, and I really appreciate the culture and support.
What’s your secret work-related “pet peeve” related to your role/industry that doesn’t really matter but drives you crazy?
This matters, because initial intro meetings are important to get a foot in the door. But I get genuinely offended when people don’t want to meet with me 😂 I think, “Well, why not?! I think I’m pretty cool and fun to talk to!”
Who do you look to for mentorship/inspiration?
Definitely my parents. They’re both incredibly driven people, and very wise. I look to them for advice and guidance often. I try my best to emulate them, and hope to be as successful and accomplished in life as they are.
Coffee or tea? How many cups in a normal work day?
Neither coffee or tea — water all the way! I quit coffee during my masters degree program. I try to stay away from depending on caffeine. And I usually only drink tea with honey when I’m sick, but of course I love the occasional Arizona Iced Tea on road trips!
What do you enjoy doing outside of work?
I’m an outdoors person and love exploring what Arizona has to offer: hiking, snowboarding, boating, river floats, shooting, archery, hunting, fishing, off-roading, dirt bike riding, camping, and sporting events are some of my favorites. I also love country swing/two-stepping. Dancing is my escape!
What is your most-used/favorite emoji?
What movie/TV show did you last watch?
I’m currently watching the second season of the Mandalorian!
What’s your ideal vacation?
My ideal vacation is something tropical. I love Turks & Caicos and scuba diving!
What languages can you speak?
I speak English! I can also understand and speak some Spanish if necessary, but I’m not fluent.
