Anar, Operations Manager for Distillery Russia
Tell us a bit about your background and your role at Distillery.
I’m Distillery Russia’s Operations Manager! I have both a software engineering and management degree. My expertise spans software project management, account management and presales.
What are your biggest strengths that you bring to your role at Distillery?
My strengths are building teams, setting up processes, motivating others, team building, flexibility, the ability to analyze a large amount of information, and building a systematic approach to solving problems.
What attracted you to Distillery?
I joined Distillery over 8 years ago to work with a team of dreamers and believers, and also to try my hand in the IT industry. I wanted to use the experience I have in working for a large company to help build an international and ambitious company, which describes Distillery perfectly!
What has been your favorite part about being on the Distillery team?
I love Distillery’s values, team bonding, working with top talent, and the fact that we are not afraid to experiment with processes, approaches, and innovations (and use this to our advantage)!
What are some skills or topics you’re learning about right now?
I’m participating in an MBA program, so what I’m learning is widespread. In the program, I’m in the process of learning financial management, and I’m also taking leadership courses.
Coffee or tea? How many cups in a normal work day?
Tea — up to 5 cups per day!
What do you enjoy doing outside of work?
Staying up-to-date with tech trends, watching football (also known as soccer in the U.S.), playing video games, and taking road trips.
What’s your superpower?
Concentration and finding solutions to difficult situations.
Most-used or favorite emoji?
Favorite movie/TV show?
Sopranos, Brothers in Arms, and Fargo.
Something easy-going, exploring sights by car, and with the ocean and mountains!
What languages can you speak?
I speak Russian, English, and a bit of Ukrainian.
