Today, we’d like you to meet George, Head of Mobile at Distillery!
George, Head of Mobile Development at Distillery
Tell us a bit about your background and your role at Distillery.
I’m head of the Mobile department here at Distillery. I’ve been with the company since 2010 and have specialized in iOS development since 2012.
Prior to my current role as Head of Mobile, I was Head of iOS at Distillery, and also spent two years as an iOS team lead before that, coordinating my engineering team and working to streamline communications with both managers and clients.
What are your biggest strengths that you bring to your role at Distillery?
My biggest strength is communication. This allows me to effectively handle difficult situations in the workplace. Additionally, my expertise and experience are in tech and software development.
What attracted you to Distillery?
The awesome people and diverse client projects attracted me to Distillery.
What are you learning right now?
I’m in the process of earning the “Leading People and Teams Specialization” by the University of Michigan on Coursera. I’m also learning about new tools from Apple — SwiftUI and Combine.
What’s your favorite development tool?
AppCode from Jetbrains is my favorite dev tool!
What do you wish more people would ask/talk to you about?
How to better organize development processes within a team.
What’s the best environment for you to code in?
A 50/50 split between home and the office.
What do you do to get “unstuck” on a really difficult problem?
I sleep on it. Brilliant ideas appear the next morning.
How many cups of coffee/tea do you drink throughout a normal day?
Too many to share 🙂
What do you enjoy doing outside of work?
I love to travel and take photos and videos with drones.

The last show I watched was “For All Mankind”.
Traveling and learning more about the location I’m visiting.
What languages can you speak?
I speak English and Russian.
