Giselle: Sales Director, Europe

Introduce yourself, your background/expertise, and your position at Distillery

As the Europe Sales Director based out of Spain, I carry out sales and business development efforts for Distillery’s European operations

My background includes 10+ years in business development, management consulting, and professional services. I also have strong expertise in recruitment, and HR as it was part of my job for many years.

Given your work experience, what are the biggest strengths that you bring to your role at Distillery?

Besides a knack for building strong, lasting relationships with clients, colleagues and consultants, I think that one of my greatest strengths comes from my ability to navigate through different selling and business styles across European countries. Selling around Europe is completely different from selling in the United States, and I’m able to forge both styles.

What attracted you to Distillery?

I’ve worked at small, mid-sized and Fortune 500 companies, all in high growth environments. I know what it feels like to work in an ambiguous environment and what it feels like work in a very structured one. Being the first Sales Director in Europe, comes with a green, unknown territory. I liked the challenge of being part of something that was a bit unknown, new and uncharted and then helping mold it into something strong, precise and great. It really is an exciting time to be part of this company.

What has been your favorite part about being on the Distillery team?

I have an amazing mentor and leader and the team in general has been very welcoming.

What do you enjoy doing outside of work?

I used to do a lot of yoga, hiking and spending time with friends, but now that I’m a mother of twin toddlers, most of my time outside of work is spent with them…which I enjoy to the fullest.

What’s your secret work-related pet peeve that doesn’t really matter but drives you crazy?

Having important conversations about work via slack, I hate when things get lost in translation. Just give me a call.

What are three to five hashtags that describe you (both personally and professionally)?

#Creative #Curious #Kind #Genuine #Persistent

How many cups of coffee/tea do you drink throughout a normal work day?

2 café con leches!

What’s your favorite movie/TV show? (Or what movie/TV show did you last watch?)

My favorite TV shows are still Seinfeld and Curb your Enthusiasm.

What languages can you speak?
My parents are both Cuban so my first language was Spanish, which I’m still fluent in, and of course English

If you could have one superpower, what would it be?
Definitely flight. I would practically live in the sky. No car, no paying for gas, or plane. I’d be in Miami and California, seeing friends and family every weekend.
