James, Sales Director for Distillery UK and Europe
Tell us a bit about your background and position at Distillery
I’m the UK and Europe Sales Director with 20 years of experience in sales leadership, business development, and account management. Previously, I have built and rebuilt numerous high-performing sales teams and organizations. Before joining Distillery, I worked for numerous “Blue Chip” businesses based in the UK.
Given your work experience, what are your biggest strengths that you bring to your role at Distillery?
My experience and my passion to coach teams and individuals to become the best they can be. I’m a huge team player and am always keen to support the business with its goals, challenges, and objectives.
What attracted you to Distillery?
The challenge of breaking out into a new market in the UK and Europe. This is a very exciting period in the company’s history.
What has been your favorite part about being on the Distillery team?
The people have been great and very accommodating to new ideas.
What are some skills or topics you’re learning about right now?
Working and respecting everyone’s timezones 😉
Coffee or tea? How many cups in a normal work day?
English “builders” tea first thing in the morning followed by fresh ground Flat White Coffee (I grind my own beans!)
What do you enjoy doing outside of work?
Motorcycles, I ride myself on a Harley and a Triumph. Also, competitive cycling along with spending quality time with my wife, three daughters and two granddaughters.

What’s your favorite book (or what are you currently reading)?
Currently reading about the moon and its impact on the earth.
What is your ideal vacation?
What languages can you speak?
English with a “midlands” accent. I always try to learn the local language when traveling, which is great fun.
If you could live in any city, where would it be?
I love where I live now. Cheltenham is a beautiful spa town city, steeped in history.
