About the Position

As a Middle Data Engineer, you will play a crucial role in developing ETL integrations, optimizing data flows, and ensuring the seamless communication between various business platforms. You will work closely with our product management and fulfillment center teams to solve complex business challenges, maintain the integrity of our architecture, and ensure the quality of our data processes. Your contributions will be essential in supporting our third-party logistics business model and enhancing the efficiency of our operations.
 

Responsibilities

  • Develop ETL integrations from internal and external systems to streamline business operations.

  • Analyze communication requirements to support the third-party logistics business model.

  • Streamline business-to-business communication platforms, including Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), Order Management Systems (OMS), and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP).

  • Capture integration specifications and create process flow diagrams/documentation for all new and existing integrations (API, Webhooks, EDI, flat files, etc.).

  • Understand and optimize Order Management Systems to enhance operational efficiency.

  • Create fulfillment center customer-facing dashboards to provide real-time insights.

  • Collaborate with Product Managers and the Fulfillment Center team to address business challenges, manage feature dependencies, and maintain architectural integrity.

  • Conduct quality control and unit tests for all completed developments.

  • Monitor day-to-day communication across multiple platforms, ensuring smooth operations.

  • Investigate data anomalies, identify potential issues within ETL pipelines, notify relevant stakeholders, and propose solutions.

  • Define and manage data flows from external systems to fulfillment operations.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.
     

Requirements

  • College degree/Master’s degree preferred or equivalent experience.

  • 5+ years of experience working with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), Order Management Systems (OMS), and ETL platforms.

  • Strong understanding of e-commerce operations and warehouse processes.

  • Advanced knowledge of common supply chain informational transactions and systems (WMS, OMS).

  • Experience with data integration patterns in SaaS/Cloud environments, including API/Web Services management and creation.

  • Proficiency in working with file and message formats such as CSV, X12, XML, JSON, etc.

  • Experience with SQL and relational databases.

  • Experience with ETL platforms such as Cleo, Boomi, Airflow, Workato, etc.

  • Strong understanding of data flow related to WMS.

  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks and meet established deadlines.

  • Detail-oriented with a high degree of accuracy.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
