About the Position

As the Head of the Data Department, you will lead all data operations for our software staff augmentation company, aligning data strategies with business needs and client goals. Reporting to the Head of Technology Delivery, you’ll manage the technical and operational aspects of the department, recruit top talent, and contribute to company growth.
 

Responsibilities

  • Lead the data department, managing a team of engineers, analysts, and scientists to develop scalable data pipelines and solutions. 

  • Collaborate with recruiters and leadership to attract top talent and ensure a high-quality hiring process. 

  • Participate in client projects, understanding their requirements while ensuring an exceptional experience.

  • Engage in sales calls to present data capabilities and scope client needs.

  • Oversee data governance, ensuring data quality, integrity, and security. 

  • Drive innovation within the team, mentor members, and ensure alignment with broader business objectives. 

  • Coordinate technical assessments, maintain evaluation tools, and optimize data platforms and methodologies.


Requirements

  • Demonstrated expertise in managing data engineering, data management, and project execution, ensuring seamless team performance and high-quality deliverables.

  • Extensive hands-on experience in designing and building robust ETL processes, developing scalable data pipelines, and implementing effective data governance frameworks.

  • Advanced skills in using tools like Tableau, Power BI, or similar platforms to support business intelligence, data analysis, and client reporting.

  • Expertise in database technologies such as SQL, PostgreSQL, and MySQL, ensuring efficient data storage, retrieval, and management.

  • Solid understanding of cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and experience working with data warehousing solutions like Snowflake, Redshift, or similar.

  • Practical knowledge of big data technologies such as Hadoop and Spark for handling large-scale data processing and analysis.

  • Proficiency in Python for data analysis, contributing to advanced analytics, data manipulation, and insights generation.

  • Experience in recruiting, interviewing, and developing talent within the data domain, fostering a collaborative and high-performing team environment.

  • Ability to clearly engage with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, including clients and internal teams, ensuring smooth project alignment and execution.

  • Proven capability to balance multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment, with a strong focus on both technical execution and client satisfaction.

  • Must be based in Buenos Aires, Córdoba Capital or Mexico City.


Nice to Have

  • Valuable experience with LLM integration, AI frameworks (Langchain, PyTorch, TensorFlow), and NLP tools. 

  • Skilled in AI-powered analytics and integrating machine learning models into data pipelines.
