About the Position
To ensure accurate and timely payroll processing while maintaining proper accounting records related to payroll activities. The role is also responsible for ensuring compliance with local tax and labor laws, supporting financial audits, and assisting in the financial close process.
Responsibilities

Manage Payroll Process: Manage the complete hr payroll process, ensuring timely and accurate calculations, with a focus on compliance with local tax and labor laws.

Tax Compliance: Ensure all payroll-related tax obligations are correctly calculated and reported to the finance team, prepare required fillings in compliance with local regulations.

Accounting and Reconciliation: Accurately record payroll expenses and liabilities in the accounting system, ensuring they align with financial statements. Carry out accounting in Mexico to align it with US finances and file the relevant taxes. Reconcile accounts, including tax withholdings, contributions, and other payroll-related entries.

Audit Support: Assist in internal and external audits, providing required payroll data and supporting documentation.

Financial Close Process: Collaborate with the finance team during month-end and year-end financial close to ensure payroll figures are correctly integrated into financial reports.

Benefits and Deductions: Manage employee benefits, deductions, and any other compensation adjustments within the payroll system.

Compliance: Ensure adherence to local labor laws and regulations, including timely filing of tax and regulatory reports.

Issue Resolution: Address payroll discrepancies or issues, responding to inquiries from employees or regulatory bodies. Handle payroll discrepancies and inquiries from employees or regulatory bodies. Manage employee registrations and terminations in national systems (IMSS, INFONAVIT, etc.), and calculate severance payments and other termination-related compensations.
Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field.

Minimum of 4 years of experience in payroll and accounting in Mexico.

Experienced in Tax Fillings, strong understanding of Mexican tax and labor regulations.

Advanced knowledge of Excel and accounting software.

Experience using QBO and CONTADIGITAL is a plus.
