About the Position

As the Data Scientist, you'll get to play a key and unique role in building new startups from 0 to 1 and creating practical outcomes from emergent technologies and accessible data.

You'll act as the hands-on expert and owner of data science for a technology venture. You will collaborate with our venture teams to drive day-to-day data science efforts. This includes everything from assisting in validating the initial business concepts, ideating and validating data use cases, developing proof of concepts, and working closely with the product and engineering team members to drive practical outcomes.

 

Responsibilities

  • Conduct research and develop machine learning models to solve complex business challenges.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify, prioritize, and solve high-impact problems.
  • Design, build, and deploy predictive and prescriptive analytics models using Python and other relevant tools.
  • Work with Azure Machine Learning and Databricks to streamline data processing and model development.
  • Apply operations research and optimization algorithms to enhance business outcomes and processes.
  • Communicate insights and provide data-driven recommendations to stakeholders across the organization.

 

Requirements

  • Strong proficiency in Python for data manipulation, statistical analysis, and machine learning model development.
  • In-depth knowledge of machine learning techniques and their practical applications.
  • Hands-on experience with Azure Machine Learning and Databricks for building and deploying models.
  • Background in operations research and familiarity with optimization algorithms to solve business problems.
  • Strong research skills, including the ability to evaluate and implement new techniques as needed.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to convey complex information to non-technical stakeholders.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Operations Research, or a related field.
  • Experience working in a cloud-based environment, particularly with Microsoft Azure.
  • Knowledge of other programming languages, big data tools, or visualization libraries (such as SQL, R, or Tableau) is a plus.
