About the Position
We are seeking a Senior DevOps / Cloud Infrastructure Engineer with deep experience in AWS and Terraform to lead a high-impact infrastructure migration project. You will play a critical role in rebuilding a complex cloud environment in a new AWS account, ensuring all services are securely replicated, optimized, and production-ready.
This is an exciting opportunity to work with a wide array of modern data and machine learning tools, collaborating closely with data engineering teams to drive innovation through scalable and secure infrastructure.
Responsibilities
- Lead the replication of a complex AWS infrastructure using Terraform.
- Audit, improve, and extend existing Terraform modules for reusability and clarity.
- Provision and configure AWS services such as S3, Lambda, Redshift, EMR, MSK, MWAA, Athena, Glue, SageMaker, and Databricks on EC2.
- Design and implement IAM roles, policies, Secrets Manager entries, and cross-account access.
- Configure networking elements such as VPCs, subnets, NAT gateways, and security groups.
- Manage remote Terraform state using S3/DynamoDB.
- Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitHub Actions, Jenkins, Terraform Cloud).
- Support secure data migration strategies using cross-account replication, KMS, and Redshift snapshots.
- Collaborate with Data Engineers and platform stakeholders to ensure architectural alignment.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in DevOps, Cloud Infrastructure, or Infrastructure-as-Code roles.
- Expert-level proficiency in Terraform and managing infrastructure in multi-account AWS environments.
- Deep hands-on experience with core AWS services:
- Compute: Lambda, EC2
- Data: S3, Redshift, Glue, MSK, SageMaker
- Orchestration: MWAA, Athena
- IAM and Security: IAM, KMS, Secrets Manager
- Experience designing and managing CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitHub Actions, Jenkins).
- Strong understanding of AWS security and compliance best practices.
- Ability to communicate fluently in English, both written and spoken.
Nice to Have
- Previous work in data engineering environments or with analytics platforms.
- Experience with tools such as Fivetran, Databricks, or external data connectors.
- Familiarity with Terraform automation tools like Terragrunt.
- Awareness of monitoring and observability tooling such as CloudWatch, Datadog, or ELK stack.
