About the Position:

Distillery is seeking a highly skilled Senior Frontend Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for developing, optimizing, and maintaining modern web applications using React and Next.js, with a strong emphasis on TypeScript for type safety and scalability. If you have experience in e-commerce, that’s a huge plus! You will work closely with UX/UI designers, product managers, and engineers to deliver high-performing, responsive, and accessible user experiences.


 Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain user-facing features with clean, reusable, and maintainable code.
  • Collaborate with the design team to ensure a pixel-perfect UI and an intuitive user experience.
  • Write and maintain unit and integration tests to ensure code quality and reliability.
  • Optimize applications for speed, scalability, and performance.
  • Review code, provide technical feedback, and mentor junior engineers.
  • Define standards and best practices for testing, software delivery, and observability.
  • Participate in team meetings, including stand-ups and sprint planning.
  • Write technical documentation and improve development processes.
  • Debug and resolve production issues.
  • Advocate for new technologies and design patterns to enhance business performance.
  • Collaborate with backend engineers, designers, and product managers to deliver high-quality user experiences.
  • Stay updated with frontend development trends and explore new technologies.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of professional experience in frontend development, focusing on dynamic and responsive web applications.
  • Expert knowledge of the JavaScript ecosystem, including React, TypeScript, and testing frameworks.
  • Strong understanding of user-centered design principles and responsive design implementation.
  • Proven experience in improving web application performance, optimizing rendering, and reducing load times.
  • Strong communication skills and experience working in Agile environments.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with DataDog, server-side rendering, monorepos, and design system implementation.
  • Automation mindset and experience streamlining development workflows.
  • Adherence to best practices in React, frontend architecture, and performance optimization.
  • Experience designing and implementing high-performance user interfaces in cross-functional teams.
