About the Position
We are seeking a highly experienced QA Manager to join a fast-growing Fintech company (100% remote from LatAm). In this leadership role, you will be responsible for defining and driving the quality assurance strategy across the organization. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring the delivery of reliable, secure, and high-quality software products, while guiding and mentoring a distributed QA team. This position requires strong technical knowledge to oversee complex QA initiatives, but the focus will be on strategic direction, process optimization, and effective team leadership rather than hands-on execution. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to champion a culture of quality and continuous improvement.
Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough analysis of current development and testing processes to identify gaps and improvements.
- Define and document quality standards, metrics, and KPIs to measure QA effectiveness.
- Establish and manage QA processes including test planning, defect management, requirements traceability, and release management.
- Collaborate with Product teams to ensure requirements (user stories, acceptance criteria, scope) meet quality standards.
- Oversee all test teams and projects, aligning with organizational goals.
- Assess current automation implementations and define strategies for backend, API, and integration testing.
- Lead the adoption of advanced testing tools and techniques, including CI/CD integration and performance testing.
- Ensure comprehensive test coverage across UI, API, and third-party integrations.
- Gather feedback from stakeholders and monitor QA satisfaction levels.
- Communicate effectively with development teams, project managers, and executives.
- Lead, mentor, and inspire the QA team, fostering a high-performance and collaborative culture.
- Manage resource allocation, prioritization, and planning for QA activities.
- Champion a culture of quality across the organization.
Requirements
- +9 years of experience in software quality assurance, including technical testing roles.
- Proven track record as a QA Lead/Manager with strong backend testing expertise (APIs, databases, performance).
- 3+ years of experience leading and managing QA teams, including distributed remote teams.
- Hands-on experience with automation tools such as Selenium, Playwright, Postman, REST Assured, JMeter, or similar.
- Proficiency in programming/scripting (C#, Java) for test automation.
- Experience with version control (Git) and CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps, GitLab CI/CD, Jenkins).
- Strong understanding of QA methodologies, SDLC, Agile frameworks (Scrum/Kanban), and quality measures.
- Exceptional leadership, project management, and communication skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
Nice To Have
- Relevant certifications such as ISTQB, CSM, or PMP.
- Experience with performance and load testing tools (e.g., JMeter, Gatling).
- Familiarity with cloud-based environments (AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Knowledge of security testing practices and tools.
