Challenge
Towards the top of our client’s 2022 priority list was obtaining a SOC 2 certification. SOC 2 is a voluntary compliance standard for service organizations that specifies how organizations should manage customer data. The standard is based on the following Trust Services Criteria: security, availability, processing integrity, confidentiality, and privacy. *source
Value Delivered
Distillery’s resources were able to get to work on the certification requirements immediately and within 3 weeks were on the final step: validation. A key component of this initiative was implementing Terraform: an open-source, infrastructure as code to automate processes instead of completing them manually resulting in faster developments in the future. Additionally, the Distillery team focused on rewriting the client’s cloud infrastructure as part of an updated disaster recovery plan. Allowing multiple infrastructure locations gave our client access to their resources in case one became unobtainable. This increased security infrastructure has allowed our client to become eligible for their SOC 2 certification to prove their data is protected and kept private from unauthorized users.
