About the Position

We are seeking a skilled Backend Developer (Node.js) with strong experience in Node.js and TypeScript, and solid knowledge of PHP/Laravel, to join one of our high-performing client teams.

In this role, you will focus on building, maintaining, and scaling backend services and APIs that support modern web applications. The ideal candidate has a strong backend mindset, experience working with distributed systems, and a collaborative approach to working with cross-functional teams. Experience with Shopify integrations is a plus.



Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain backend services and APIs using Node.js and TypeScript
  • Build and maintain backend components using PHP and Laravel when required
  • Collaborate closely with frontend developers, QA, DevOps, and product stakeholders
  • Integrate third-party APIs and external services, including e-commerce platforms
  • Work with SQL and/or NoSQL databases to design schemas and ensure efficient data access
  • Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code with a focus on performance, scalability, and security
  • Participate in agile ceremonies, code reviews, and technical discussions
  • Support deployment processes and contribute to backend-related DevOps activities
  • Take ownership of backend features from development through production release


Requirements

  • +6 years of experience as a Backend Developer or similar role
  • Strong experience with Node.js and TypeScript
  • Hands-on experience with PHP and Laravel
  • Solid understanding of RESTful APIs and backend architecture
  • Experience working with relational and/or NoSQL databases
  • Familiarity with version control systems such as Git
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work collaboratively in distributed teams
  • Advanced English level
  • Availability to work Pacific Time (PST) hours


Nice To Have

  • Experience working with Shopify or Shopify integrations
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and modern deployment workflows
  • Experience with cloud platforms and basic DevOps practices
  • Knowledge of Docker or container-based environments
  • Startup or fast-paced environment experience
  • Exposure to additional backend technologies or frameworks
