About the position
Distillery is seeking a highly motivated, detail-oriented, curious, proactive, and creative problem solver for the role of Product Operations & Strategy Associate to support the Managing Director of Product. This role is ideal for someone who is curious, loves to solve interesting problems, and can thrive in both a conceptual, low-information environment while also having the skill and focus to deep dive into the details of a problem. We are looking for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, evolving product environment and enjoys translating high-level product vision into clear, actionable, and well-structured artifacts, while also helping the Managing Director of Product brainstorm new products and evolve the existing product suite. We are also looking for someone who is a flexible, collaborative, and empathetic team player and is able to be a tactical interface between Product and the Development Team. This is a unique opportunity to help build and formalize product frameworks at a global payments company deeply embedded in the airline ecosystem. You will work closely with product leadership, business analysts, engineering, and cross-functional stakeholders to help shape product strategy, roadmaps, and execution.
The ideal candidate is tenacious, curious, structured, and proactive — someone who doesn’t just execute tasks, but actively seeks to understand the product, the market, and the “why” behind decisions.
Responsibilities
Product Execution, Artifacts & Problem Solving
• Build, maintain, and evolve core product artifacts, including:
o Product catalogs and product definitions
o Feature inventories mapped to products
o Individual product roadmaps
o An overarching product roadmap
• Translate high-level product vision and ambiguous problem spaces into clear, structured artifacts and actionable next steps
• Support feature prioritization efforts by helping structure inputs, scoring frameworks, and trade-off analysis
• Assist in breaking down complex product problems into logical components and recommending paths forward
• Contribute to brainstorming and shaping new products and enhancements to the existing product suite
• Assist in translating product strategy into clear documentation, presentations, and internal-facing materials
Product Operations & Coordination
• Schedule and coordinate meetings with internal and external stakeholders
• Prepare agendas, take detailed notes, and synthesize action items and next steps
• Track decisions, dependencies, risks, and follow-ups across multiple initiatives
• Help maintain momentum across workstreams operating at different levels of clarity and maturity
• Act as a “herder of cats” across product, engineering, and business teams to ensure alignment and forward progress
Cross-Functional Collaboration
• Serve as a tactical interface between Product and the Development Team
• Interface closely with business analysts and the development team to:
o Clarify requirements
o Track progress
o Ensure product intent is preserved through execution
• Help connect strategy to delivery by identifying gaps, inconsistencies, or unanswered questions early
• Operate effectively in both high-level conceptual discussions and detailed execution conversations
Strategic Support
• Support the Managing Director of Product in:
o Structuring and formalizing product strategy
o Preparing internal communications, updates, and leadership materials
o Thinking through product problems in detail and surfacing options, risks, and implications
• Help bring structure to evolving product ideas and low-information problem spaces
• Proactively ask questions, challenge assumptions constructively, and bring clarity where direction is not yet fully defined
• Actively seek to understand the broader product landscape, market context, and strategic “why” behind decisions
Requirements
Experience & Skills
• Experience in product management, product operations, business analysis, or a closely related role
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate ideas into clear, structured outputs
• Experience building or maintaining product documentation, roadmaps, or feature inventories
• Demonstrated ability to take loosely defined problems and turn them into organized approaches or deliverables
• Ability to work independently with minimal oversight once context is established
• Familiarity with Agile or iterative product development environments
• Baseline understanding of airlines or payments is a plus (but not required — domain knowledge can be taught)
Why This Role Is Unique
• Work directly with senior product leadership
• Help shape and formalize product frameworks at a global payments company
• Gain exposure to airline payments, network products, and complex multi-stakeholder ecosystems
• Opportunity to have real impact on how products are structured, prioritized, and delivered
• A role designed for someone who wants ownership, learning, and influence — not just execution
