Distillery client U-Nest, led by female founder and CEO Ksenia Yudina, recently celebrated $2M in seed funding — from a venture capital firm founded and led by women, The Artemis Fund. U-Nest was the VC fund’s very first investment, and we’re thrilled to congratulate Yudina and the rest of her stellar team on being selected. The Houston-based Artemis Fund “seeks to move the needle on female founders’ access to capital.”

Distillery is fortunate to support women entrepreneurs like Yudina. We assisted FinTech startup U-Nest in building and launching the successful minimum viable product (MVP) app that helped them to secure the seed funding.

The Los Angeles-based U-Nest is on a mission to make saving for college realistic for families of any income level. U-Nest is committed to reducing the burden of student loans, and changing the trend for future generations. Explains Yudina, “Many parents are simply not aware of their savings options. A full 70% of parents do not know about the 529 College Savings Plan, and only 14% of the college savings market utilizes them due to the complexities associated with the process.” The U-Nest mobile app provides parents with an easy-to-use tool that takes the fear and complexity out of the process

U-Nest approached Distillery about MVP development in early 2018. We helped them launch Version 1.0 of the highly rated iOS app in September 2018. With their recent seed funding in place, U-Nest is positioned to expand operations, including launching an Android version of their app (join the waitlist here).

Distillery is delighted to continue playing a role in U-Nest’s success story. By engaging us as their development partner on an ongoing basis, they have the flexibility to scale their design and development resources as needed to fit their changing needs.

While Distillery doesn’t have a female founder, we’re privileged to have women in business leadership positions and other key roles throughout our organization. And we’re proud of our strong track record of supporting women entrepreneurs.

Cheers to Yudina and everyone else at U-Nest for their successful seed round! We’re excited to help you achieve the next steps in your mission to make college savings more accessible for everyone.
