Today we’d like to introduce Matias, the Head of Product Delivery and Design Department!
Introduce yourself, your background/expertise, and your position at Distillery.
Hey there! I’m Matias, but everyone calls me Mati. I graduated from Universidad Tecnológica Nacional (UTN) in 2014 as an Information Systems Engineer. I first started out as a developer and slowly started shifting my career path towards Product Management. First as a BA, then as a PO and PM, and finally becoming Head of Product Delivery and Design here at Distillery. In this role, I’m responsible for managing and leading a fantastic team of Product Managers, Project Managers, and Product Designers who spend their days giving their best to build awesome products on time and with a fantastic user experience.
What attracted you to Distillery?
The first thing that comes to mind when thinking about my first contact with Distillery is the kindness and friendliness of everyone during the interview process. But this is not what first attracted me to Distillery, as you only find out about this once you’re in the process. What really attracted me was the fact that Distillery has built a name for itself as a company hiring the best people out there. When you decide to join Distillery, you can be confident that your teammates will be top-notch and up to every single challenge they’re faced with.
How do you embody the “Never Settle” spirit in your daily work at Distillery?
I would say I’m one to never settle when it comes to improving the way things are done. Whenever I do something, I revisit it after it’s done and find a way to do it better. Even when it’s something I’ve done some time ago, there’s always a good time to try and find a way to improve things!
What are you passionate about outside of work?
Music, traveling, reading, friends, and going out on long walks are some of the things I’m passionate about.
What’s your go-to motivational quote that keeps you going when the going gets tough?

Good food, good drinks, and better company!
What are some skills or topics you’re learning about right now?
I’m currently spending some time researching new trends in the Product Management world within services companies. At the same time, I’m diving into Marty Cagan’s newest book, Transformed, which introduces some interesting concepts related to Product Operations.
If you could have one superpower to help you at work, what would it be and why?
Memorizing anything just by giving it a quick skim, for sure!
What’s your favorite “keep pushing forward” song that gets you pumped up and motivated?

What’s your go-to stress-busting activity when you need a break from work?
Walking, especially out in nature.
