At Distillery, our amazing employees are at the center of everything we do — And they deserve to have the spotlight!

In our “Meet Distillery” series, we introduce you to some of the talented experts who help us (and our partners) bring ideas to life.

Today, we’d like to introduce Laura, the South Latam IT Recruitment Leader!

Introduce yourself, your background/expertise, and your position at Distillery.

Hi! My name is Laura Taricco, I’m 34 years old and I live in Córdoba, Argentina. I am in charge of the recruiting South Latam team which includes people from Argentina, Uruguay and Perú. I manage the full-cycle recruiting process. I started at Distillery in November 2019 as a recruiter and transitioned into a lead role almost one year ago. Regarding my experience, I have more than 8 years in human Resources and 5 year working in the IT industry.

Given your work experience, what are your biggest strengths that you bring to your role at Distillery?

I feel that my biggest strength is that I like to work with people, to try to understand them, by being empathetic and warm, and I work really hard in order to create a nice environment. One of my most important challenges is always trying to focus on the people.

What attracted you to Distillery?

When I joined Distillery, it was Alejandro as Argentina Operations Manager, Ana Canuto  as HR Manager and only 4 developers. So it was quite a challenge; I was joining a company that was giving the first steps in Argentina. I really liked that time. I started in a company where I had to learn a lot everyday, working with the Russian HR people, it was a challenge to make the company grow!!! Now there are more than 150 only in Argentina!!!

With more people we have more and new challenges, i’m still learning new ways to keep on hiring and  make the company grow even more.

So, I’m pretty sure I made the right decision ;), I have grown in my experience, in my position, always trying to create quality, improving every need that i see and trying to never forget to every new person that works here the nice and warm treatment that distillery gave me in my first days

What has been your favorite part about being on the Distillery team?

The people! The teamwork, I wish everyone could have the opportunity to work with people like we have here. But also the challenges. You will never get bored at Distillery.

What’s your secret work-related “pet peeve” related to your role/industry that doesn’t really matter but drives you crazy?

I think lack of transparency and bad communication in some situations drives me crazy.

Coffee or tea? How many cups in a typical workday?

Mate; I always need to drink mate to start my morning.

What do you enjoy doing outside of work?

I love being with my family, playing with my daughters and  going out with friends. I also enjoy  watching some series and  having breakfast in a cafeteria.

What are three to five hashtags that describe you (both personally and professionally)?

#Honest,#Direct, #Empathetic, #Dedicated

What is your most-used/favorite emoji?

🐧

What’s your favorite book (or what are you currently reading)?

Eat Pray Love. I loved this book because it is one of those that makes you reflect and see the deep side of the human being, added to how much i like the movie that showed me a mixture of situations and characters that i loved.

What is your ideal vacation (or what vacation did you last take)?

The beach! The sound of the sea and being in contact with the water allows me to recharge my energies!

What languages can you speak?

I speak Spanish and English. Also some words in Italian, I love this language!

If you could live in any city, where would it be?

Barcelona. It is a place that has everything: old neighborhood with history, super modern neighborhoods, sea and mountains! and I think it is a city where we share a lot of culture.
