Today, we’d like to introduce Torie, our amazing Global Head of Finance!
Introduce yourself, your background/expertise, and your position at Distillery.
I am a finance and accounting professional with 18 years of experience, 13 years of professional services experience. I’ve been a consultant and have Big 4 experience. I hold a CPA license but have a deep love for Finance. I am Distillery’s Global Head of Finance. The Accounting and Finance functions roll up to me. I joined Distillery October 2022.
Given your work experience, what are your biggest strengths that you bring to your role at Distillery?
Performance and process improvement are my greatest strengths that I bring to Distillery. My ability to assess a company’s current state, future goals and create a plan that addresses short term and long term risks, costs, and benefits is something a company in growth stage needs.
What has been your favorite part about being on the Distillery team?
The people. I have an amazing team of direct reports and my peers have been a pleasure to work with.
What are some skills or topics you’re learning about right now?
Inflation/economics in LaTam
What’s your secret work-related “pet peeve” related to your role/industry that doesn’t really matter but drives you crazy?
Same day meetings. I generally already have my day planned before everyone else gets up.
Coffee or tea? How many cups in a typical workday?
I like both but my default is coffee. I consume several cups a day. On average about 3.
What do you enjoy doing outside of work?
I enjoy competitive bowling. I am currently working with a bowling coach to continue to improve my bowling so that I perform better at tournaments.

I am currently reading The Misadventures of Awkward Black Girl
What is your ideal vacation (or what vacation did you last take)?
My ideal vacation involves a beach and great seafood. I don’t need any excursions. Just napping on a beach with food and refreshing drinks in between. My last vacation was to Punta Cana, DR
What languages can you speak?
English and AAVE
If you could live in any city, where would it be?
I don’t know but I am interested in living in a few different cities for 3-4 months over the next few years to determine where my husband and I will live once the kids are out of the house. We are open to suggestions to add to our list. Portugal is one of the countries to explore for now.
