About the Position:

Distillery is looking for a highly experienced Senior QA Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality, performance, and reliability of robust backend systems through comprehensive testing strategies. You'll play a key role in validating REST APIs and data integrity, driving the quality of products used by top airline companies. If you have a background in Fintech and experience with alternative forms of payment or performance testing, that’s a big plus! You will collaborate closely with developers, product managers, and stakeholders across globally distributed teams to deliver scalable and efficient solutions.


Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, prioritize, and execute comprehensive test plans and test cases.
  • Perform thorough backend testing focused on REST APIs and database validation.
  • Validate both functional and non-functional requirements, ensuring scalability and performance.
  • Conduct regression testing and support user acceptance testing (UAT) processes.
  • Accurately identify, document, and report bugs.
  • Communicate testing results and insights clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and ensure appropriate test coverage.
  • Actively participate in Agile ceremonies including planning, refinement, demos, and retrospectives.
  • Lead risk assessments and root cause analyses to improve overall product quality.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of professional experience in Quality Assurance, with a strong focus on backend systems.
  • Proven experience in REST API testing and database validation.
  • Background in the Fintech industry.
  • Deep understanding of Agile frameworks such as Scrum and Kanban.
  • Strong command of QA methodologies, tools, and processes throughout the SDLC.
  • Experience working within distributed and remote teams.
  • English proficiency (B2/C1 level), with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and a proactive, problem-solving mindset.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Nice to Have

  • Experience testing Alternative Forms of Payment (AFPs).
  • Hands-on experience with performance testing tools like JMeter, K6, or BlazeMeter.
