About the Position

Distillery is seeking for a Senior Front End Developer with deep experience in Shopify theme development using Liquid, along with proficiency in React and Git-based workflows. You’ll play a key role in crafting high-quality, responsive, and performance-optimized eCommerce experiences that drive user engagement and conversions.

This is a hands-on role ideal for someone passionate about front-end architecture, Shopify customization, and delivering pixel-perfect UI experiences.


Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain Shopify themes using Liquid, HTML, SCSS, and JavaScript.
  • Translate Figma designs into pixel-perfect, responsive Shopify pages.
  • Customize existing Shopify themes and apps to meet business needs.
  • Implement front-end features across homepage, PDP, PLP, cart, and checkout.
  • Work closely with UX/UI designers, product managers, and backend developers.
  • Build and manage React components for dynamic front-end functionality.
  • Optimize storefront performance using lazy loading, asset management, and code splitting.
  • Ensure cross-browser compatibility and mobile responsiveness.
  • Debug and resolve technical issues related to front-end development and theme code.
  • Maintain and follow coding best practices and documentation standards.


Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in front-end development.
  • 3+ years working specifically with Shopify and Liquid.
  • Strong understanding of HTML5, CSS3/SCSS, JavaScript (ES6+), and Liquid.
  • Proficiency in React for building reusable components and modern interfaces.
  • Comfortable working with Git and GitHub for version control and collaboration.
  • Experience building responsive layouts using CSS Grid/Flexbox.
  • Experience working with Shopify APIs, metafields, and theme architecture.
  • Familiarity with Shopify sections, dynamic content, and schema.
  • Detail-oriented with a strong sense of UI/UX and visual design.
  • Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams in Agile environments.
  • Bonus: Experience with Shopify Plus, Hydrogen, or headless commerce.


Nice To Have

  • Shopify Certification or equivalent.
  • Experience with Hydrogen or other headless Shopify frameworks.
  • Knowledge of accessibility (WCAG) and performance best practices.
  • Familiarity with email and personalization tools like Klaviyo or Rebuy.
  • Experience with deployment workflows using Vercel, Netlify, or Oxygen.
