About the Position

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Fullstack Engineer with expertise in Ruby on Rails and React to join one of our fast-paced client teams. In this role, you’ll be instrumental in designing and building scalable backend systems and rich user-facing applications. The ideal candidate brings a strong understanding of API architecture, database modeling, and frontend development, as well as a passion for clean, maintainable code and collaborative problem-solving. This position requires availability to work in the Eastern Standard Time (EST) zone.


Responsibilities

  • Design and implement robust, scalable APIs using Ruby on Rails and React
  • Work with relational databases (preferably PostgreSQL) to manage and model data effectively
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including frontend, mobile, QA, and DevOps
  • Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code focused on performance and reliability
  • Monitor production systems and implement metrics to ensure operational stability
  • Participate in agile ceremonies, architecture reviews, and code reviews
  • Ensure seamless API interactions across clients (mobile, frontend frameworks, etc.)
  • Take full ownership of features from conception to deployment
  • Share knowledge and promote continuous learning within the team

Requirements

  • Proven experience in API design and development with Ruby on Rails
  • Proficiency in React and modern JavaScript development
  • Strong command of PostgreSQL or similar relational database technologies
  • Solid understanding of software engineering best practices
  • Experience implementing monitoring, metrics, and automated testing
  • Familiarity with version control systems like Git or Mercurial
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and eager to learn and mentor
  • Availability to work in the EST time zone

Nice To Have

  • Experience in Agile environments with Continuous Delivery practices
  • Knowledge of GraphQL API design
  • Familiarity with Redis or ElasticSearch
  • Exposure to Docker and AWS
  • Frontend experience with additional modern JavaScript frameworks
  • BS/MS in Computer Science or related field
  • Previous experience in the automotive industry
