About the Position
Distillery is seeking a Senior Support Engineer (SQL / Azure) to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality technical support for enterprise-level systems while acting as a key bridge between technical teams and business stakeholders.
You will work closely with large enterprise clients in a consulting-style engagement, troubleshooting complex issues, analyzing data, and ensuring reliable system performance. This role requires a strong combination of technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and client-facing communication in a fast-paced production environment.
Responsibilities
- Provide advanced technical support for enterprise client systems and applications
- Analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve complex issues using SQL and Azure
- Investigate data-related issues and perform root cause analysis
- Ensure timely resolution of incidents with a strong focus on quality and reliability
- Communicate directly with clients to understand issues and provide effective solutions
- Translate complex technical concepts into clear, non-technical language for stakeholders
- Act as a trusted technical advisor in a client-facing environment
- Maintain high levels of client satisfaction through proactive communication and ownership
- Collaborate with internal teams and client stakeholders in a consulting-style setup
- Support system improvements, optimizations, and reliability initiatives
- Contribute to best practices in support processes, monitoring, and issue resolution
- Identify recurring issues and propose scalable, long-term solutions
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in Technical Support, Support Engineering, or similar roles
- Proven experience supporting large enterprise clients
- Experience working in consulting or client-facing environments
- Strong expertise in SQL (querying, troubleshooting, and data analysis)
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure
- Experience analyzing and resolving complex system and data-related issues
- Advanced English proficiency (written and spoken)
- Strong ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical audiences
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Strong problem-solving mindset with a client-oriented approach
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Strong commitment to delivering high-quality support and service
Nice To Have
- Experience with monitoring and observability tools
- Familiarity with incident management frameworks (e.g., ITIL)
- Experience working with APIs and integrations
- Background in data pipelines or ETL processes
- Experience with scripting (Python, PowerShell, or similar)
- Exposure to cloud cost optimization or performance tuning
- Experience working in distributed or global teams
