Enhancing Data-Driven Personalization and Infrastructure for a Global Travel Platform

This global hotel booking platform connects millions of travelers to competitive hotel rates while rewarding them with airline miles through partners like T-Mobile and LifeMiles. To keep pace with growth, the company needed to modernize its data infrastructure, strengthen backend reliability, and accelerate AI-driven personalization.

Distillery partnered with the client in a multi-year engagement to enhance data stability, improve API performance, and enable real-time personalization, supporting both internal teams and global travel partners.

The platform’s legacy systems required a complete overhaul to improve scalability, compliance, and performance. Its hotel recommendation engine needed fine-tuning for higher booking conversions, and global expansion demanded low-latency APIs to deliver multilingual experiences. Security and payment systems also required modernization following a cyberattack.

We also developed high-performance APIs enabling sub-100ms content translation for multilingual markets and enhanced partner-facing payment systems with fraud-prevention logic.
In collaboration with the client, Distillery built a flexible cross-sell widget to increase average bookings and lifetime value. The widget intelligently surfaced complementary products during the customer journey, launching with major partners already onboarded.
