Today we’d like to introduce Laura, our talented LatAm Recruitment Lead!

Introduce yourself, your background/expertise, and your position at Distillery.

Hi! My name is Laura Taricco, I’m 35 years old and I live in Córdoba, Argentina.

I am in charge of the Recruiting Latam team which includes people from Argentina and Mexico. As a leader in recruitment, I collaborate with hiring managers to prioritize needs and ensure the recruitment team excels. I manage the full recruitment cycle, strategy development, team leadership, and performance. I always help and try to motivate and inspire people, because for me it is very important to help people believe in where we are going.

I started at Distillery in November 2019 as a recruiter and transitioned into a lead role almost two years ago.

Regarding my experience, I have more than 9 years in recruiting and 5 years working in the IT industry.

What attracted you to Distillery?

When I joined Distillery, it was a small team, so it was quite a challenge. I was joining a company that was taking the first steps in Latin America, opening one office in Argentina and another in México.

I started at a company where I had to learn a lot every day. It was a challenge to make the company grow! Now there are more than 150 employees in South Latam!

With more people, we have new challenges, and I’m still learning new ways to keep on hiring and make the company grow even more.

Also, I attracted the people! The teamwork – I wish everyone could have the opportunity to work with people like we have here.

But also the challenges. You will never get bored at Distillery.

How do you embody the “Never Settle” spirit in your daily work at Distillery?

In my daily work at Distillery, “Never Settle” is in my approach to problem-solving. I am constantly proactively looking for more efficient and effective ways to address challenges. This mindset encourages me to think outside the box and explore new possibilities.

How do you foster authentic connections with your colleagues and clients at Distillery?

For me, authentic connections come from proactive collaboration and support. I always try to offer assistance when needed. Whether it’s collaborating on projects, sharing knowledge, or providing support during difficult times, it’s about promoting a sense of teamwork.

What are you passionate about outside of work?

I love being with my family, playing with my daughters, and going out with friends. I also enjoy watching some series and having breakfast in a cafeteria.

What’s your go-to motivational quote that keeps you going when the going gets tough?

My favorite quote is, “It always seems impossible until it’s done,” by Mandela. When I have difficult moments I always think of that phrase, because the fear lasts a few minutes and you feel something is impossible, but you take courage, and you realize that it is not impossible.

If you could sum up your experience at Distillery in one hashtag, what would it be?

#DynamicDistilleryJourney

What’s your favorite way to celebrate a big win or accomplishment?

When I accomplish something important, my favorite way to celebrate it is to share it with my loved ones. When the recruiting team accomplishes something, I always make it a point to congratulate them and celebrate with them. Whether they are near or far, we join in the celebration because sharing makes each achievement much more satisfying.

If you could have one superpower to help you at work, what would it be and why?

If I could have a work-related superpower, it would be clairvoyance, being able to see future trends in the job market, and predicting upcoming demands. It’s like having a crystal ball to recruit with!

What’s your favorite “keep pushing forward” song that gets you pumped up and motivated?

Unstoppable by SIA

What’s your go-to stress-busting activity when you need a break from work?

To relax, my escape from work stress is taking a walk outdoors or going to the gym. These things help me disconnect.

When it comes to emojis, which one would you choose when a Distiller tells you a successful moment or gives you good news?
