At Distillery, our amazing employees are at the center of everything we do — And they deserve to have the spotlight!

In our “Meet Distillery” series, we introduce you to some of the talented experts who help us (and our partners) bring ideas to life.

Today, we’d like to introduce Ana, the Head of Global Resource Management!

Introduce yourself, your background/expertise, and your position at Distillery

Hi all, my name is Ana Canuto but most people call me Anita or Ani. I live in Córdoba, Argentina. At the moment, I am in charge of Global Resource Management, and back in August 2019, I started as the HR & Office Manager for Distillery Argentina. Before Distillery, I always worked for global companies, which allowed me to interact with teams worldwide and learn a lot from them. I also had the chance to be part of three start-ups, including Distillery,  which helped me learn to face difficulties and find solutions in a more creative way.

Given your work experience, what are the biggest strengths that you bring to your role at Distillery?

I think I still have a lot to learn!!! But I believe that I was able to develop strengths such as a sympathetic attitude, leadership, quick decision-making, problem-solving, team building and organizational skills, and probably others!

What attracted you to Distillery?

When I joined Distillery, it was only Alejandro as Argentina Operations Manager and me, the 2 of us preparing all the necessities to open in Argentina,  so it was a real start-up.  So I think this is what I really liked, it was like a white paper and we had the chance to write the story from point 0.  I was an HRBP, a manager, a recruiter, and an office manager,  all at the same time.

What has been your favorite part about being on the Distillery team?

Meeting new people, learning from them, and recruiting “former colleagues” who trust me and want to be part of this family.

What are some skills or topics you’re learning about right now?

I finished a postgraduate course at University, Strategic HR Management,  and now I am preparing my thesis to present in a few months!

What’s your secret work-related “pet peeve” related to your role/industry that doesn’t really matter but drives you crazy?

I think lack of transparency in some situations drives me crazy.  But I am sure there are some more!

Coffee or tea? How many cups in a typical workday?

Always coffee!!! Around 2 or 3 cups…

What do you enjoy doing outside of work?

I love going out with friends and going out for dinner! I love doing gymnastics and socializing – getting visitors and organizing events at home. I also enjoy being at home and listening to music, those are probably my favorites! Also some Netflix series from time to time.

What are three to five hashtags that describe you (both personally and professionally)?

I use the # of the places I visit and I fall in love with

I use the # of the events I attend , a concert, a show, the World Cup and Messi related!
