This month we are celebrating the Agile Method, which gives engineers the ability to rapidly adapt to their work based on an ever changing environment and customer needs. Global Enterprise Agility Month is a Global initiative to raise awareness about agile methodology, which was created in the 1990’s as software producers were failing to meet the critical expectations of consumer demand in their development processes.

This month in particular we take a deeper look at how our agile methodology can help our customers thrive and grow their businesses. It’s time to focus on how we can create both happier employees and customers.

Here are some ways that you can take part in Global Enterprise Agility Month:

  1. Review and make updates to your current development strategies – Take this time to review how current client demands or expectations may affect your SME strategies and make room for growth. Know where your customer data lives and how to properly access and respond.
  2.  Assess your team structure and balance – A well thought out and organized team structure is critical to success. Of course, hiring plays a huge part in developing a strong team, but it is also important to provide agile workers with autonomy to do their work.
  3. Remember to work in sprints, not marathons – We tend to think too big when faced with challenges but this can hinder our flexibility and growth. Try to make short and vital updates at a quicker pace, while continuing to move the larger projects forward.

Almost any company can become agile. It does not happen overnight, but it is possible. If you are already using, or are working to adopt an agile approach for your business, take the time this month to assess your current team structure, methodology, successes and challenges. If you are still on the fence, take this opportunity to educate yourself on the benefits that agile methodology can bring to your organization.
